Abstract

In recent ten years, the building information model (BIM) has been focused on various stages and scenes of construction engineering, but there is no consensus on the practical application of BIM. This paper introduces the principle and process of three-dimensional laser scanning and image-based modeling technology (IBM), the critical reverse modeling technology. Then, the reverse modeling technology meets the demands of different architectural objects, such as different application scenarios, architectural characteristics, and the actual needs of the project site. The paper will explore the reverse modeling technology suitable for different engineering requirements. At the same time, the fourth chapter of this paper will give some practical cases to illustrate the problems encountered in practical work and provide a specific reference value for similar projects. The source data required for reverse modeling can be roughly divided into design information of existing buildings and reality capture. Combined with specific projects, the feature analysis table provides scientific decision-making for reverse modeling technicians, improves efficiency, and saves costs.
